Enhancing Learning Performance (ELP for short) is a folder containing 12 lesson plans, photocopiable resources, a CD-ROM and access to innovative software to download. It's emphasis is on promoting a positive attitude towards learning and towards school. It achieves this through lessons on learning skills, teamwork, communication, and goal setting. Here's the outline of the course:
- Deja Vu - a lesson recapping their Learning Performance seminar workshop.
- Learning Performance - a lesson looking at how determination and knowledge can make a difference, and how they all have personal resources to tap into.
- The Gospel of School - a lesson looking at the golden rules of learning
- Cross the River - a lesson on teamwork using Eduteams
- The Power of Dreams - a two part lesson on short-term and long-term goals
- Keeping Your Head - a two part lesson on stress management and emotional intelligence
- Slogans for Success - a summative lesson that reflects on lessons learned so far
- Learning in Style - a lesson about applying learning styles to their behaviour in the classroom and when doing homework.
- Buried Treasure - a lesson about applying mapping and reviewing to their approach to being successful at school.
- Action Plans - a lesson summing up all the lessons learned on the course, creating action plans for the rest of their time at school, and beyond.
