We have a simple formula to make learning easier:
As a result, our workshops are presented on the following premises:
- Learning is most effective when it is fun.
- Learning is most effective when the student is actively involved in the process.
- Learning is most effective if the student is motivated.
- There are two aspects of the brain to be employed in learning: the logical and the creative. These are often referred to as 'left' and 'right' brain activities. It is the creative dimension to learning that we help students to rediscover.
- There are three main learning styles: visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. A student will often find that they prefer one method above the others. This is particularly helpful for self-study in preparation for exams.
Our presenters will therefore ensure their workshop is:
- fun
- motivating
- interactive
- multi-sensory
- whole brain "friendly"
With these potential long-term aims:
- Discourage students relying on their teachers to be the sole source of their learning, motivation and interest.
- Attempt to spark enthusiasm among students to take control of their own learning.
- Demonstrate to students how they can be independent learners.
Nota Beta
We do not presume that we can waltz into your school, wave a magic wand, and suddenly produce model pupils for you. Our aim is to provide the information and a feeling of empowerment that can enable a pupil to be a successful learner. There is substance to our seminars, they are not some razzle-dazzle light show that wows its audience for a day and leaves them with nothing of use. Many schools (and we visit a lot of schools) use us time and again because we present useful skills in an interesting and inspiring way, and the school that finds us most useful is the school that views our input as part of their attempt to improve their pupils' learning experience, performance and potential.
